Sutter lies are becoming more obvious as time progresses

The "Rev." Sutter has posted an update in his smear campaign against my friend Lady Predator. So, in her defense, I am going to dispel his lies and fallacies.

First he states that Lady Pred's MySpace page has been removed. This is a complete lie. I was just there a few minutes ago (see, I have this thing about gathering facts). If you try to go to the URL he gives for her MySpace page, you won't get there. Why? Because the URL is a bogus URL which does not exist in the WHOIS database.
UPDATE: 8/16/07 Ms. Runyon's MySpace page which was formerly at myspace.com-ladypredator.com, which was a mirror of her hate sites, has been removed by MySpace administrators.

(emphasis added)
For those not in the know (and this may or may not include Jimmy S. ) A URL has several parts. The main part is what is called the Top Level Domain - or TLD. That is the part that immediately precedes, and includes the extension. There are are plethora of extensions available, but the most common is .com, but there are also, .net, .us, .org...you get the picture. So the TLD for this site, for example, would be "blogspot.com". What comes before the blogspot is called a sub-domain. And browsers today assume that if the user did not type "www" before the rest of the address, that is what is meant, so the "www." is really not necessary any longer.

Okay, armed with factual information about how the web works, we look at the address that Jimmy has given for Lady Pred's MySpace account - myspace.com-ladypredator.com

Now, let us dissect this address. We know the extension given is ".com", before that would be the domain name - which in this case would be "com-ladypredator", and before that the sub-domain.

Doing a quick "whois" search with Network Solutions reveals that the domain "com-ladypredator.com" is available for purchase (or, rather, rent, but don't get me started on that).
Congratulations! The following domains are available
Select available checkboxes to add domains to your order:
com-ladypredator
  • .com
  • .net
  • .mobi
  • .org
  • .us
  • .info
  • .biz
  • .tv
  • .ws
  • .bz
  • .de
  • .co.uk

At any rate. The lying "man of God" (isn't bearing false witness against one of those commandment things?) wants everyone to believe that Lady Pred's MySpace page is no longer available, and his proof is an address, to a domain that does not exist anywhere on the Internet. Lady Pred's MySpace page is actually at "http://www.myspace.com/ladypredator" and anyone can get to it (that is, if your work does not filter MySpace).

His claim about this would be the same as my saying "Blogspot has removed Rev Sutter's hate filled anti-American site because going to the URL http://hatewatchhallof.shame.blogspot.com/ gives you a 404!"
Also, Ms. Runyon's main website at http://ladypredator.com, has now been blocked by another of the major web content filtering services, allowing the hatred there to be blocked from view by schools, libraries, corporations, users of various ISPs, agencies and entities totaling a little over 930,000 in the USA alone.

Notice please, that Jimmy does not give any reference to what "major web content filtering service" he is speaking of. He gives no source for his information. He simply states it as fact and I guess everyone is supposed to believe him.

Note: It is rather amusing that the lying Rev would post that, as *no* one can see my message board unless they join. He is annoyed that he has no clue what is on that message board.

The fact is, I know that libraries do not filter content. ISPs in general do not filter content. They offer tools to allow users to filter content, but the ISPs do not filter the content. They are service providers, not content providers.

Lady Pred's site (http://ladypredator.com) is a forum or discussion board (sorry for not dropping by more often LP). Most corporations I know of filter the majority of forums. This is not because of the content of the forums, it is because they want their employees working and not chatting it up online when they should be working.

He completes his update with:
It is rumored that Microsoft is moving forward with development of a filter for Internet Explorer that will block hate speech, racist writings, pornography, and sites espousing violent religious extremism. Once activated, which will happen with a routine update, trying to access these sites will result in a 404 page.

So now Microsoft is going to take on the role of the net nanny? What kind of crack are they selling in Ohio these days? Microsoft filtering content. What a laugh. Again, please note that he does not give any source for this statement. He doesn't give a link or a quote from anyone. He simply states it, and I suppose everyone is supposed to think it is true.

Let us recap the lies contained in this update:
  1. Lady Pred's MySpace page is not a mirror of anything (in fact, it is woefully empty).
Note: My MySpace profile was taken down *again* but the phony rev gives himself away as the pathetic loser he. There is *no* hate speech on the profile. But there are links to Blogs Sutter personality disapproves of. Every two four weeks the profile get deleted and I just put it back up links and all. Here is the new page which is exactly like the old page Note the lack of hate speech. Sutter's definition of hate speech is a link to my message board, Foehammer's Anvil and TheReligionofPeace.com However this little gem provides proof of Sutter's stalking and will be added to the identity theft criminal report I filed on him. Also now MySpace has the name of the Sheriff and the report number of the criminal complaint I made regarding Sutter.

  1. He wants everyone to believe that a URL that has never existed is proof that MySpace has closed her page (again, I was just there a few minutes ago, and it is alive and kicking).

  2. He emphatically states that a "major web content filtering service" has blocked content from ladypredator.com - but refuses to reveal whom it was, or where his information comes from. (okay, that one may not be a lie, but there is no way to verify it - and given that everything else is a lie, I find it safe and prudent to accept this statement as a lie also)

  1. That Microsoft is setting itself up to be the thought police, the Ministry of Truth, so to speak.

The Fraudulent "Rev" Perjurs Himself and Abuses the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA)

Those of us who know the pretend "rev" and Navy Seal impostor are not surprised at that he would lie to keep the truth about himself off the web and away from the public. Mr Sutter like many frauds on the web today has been abusing the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) to stop freedom of speech and prevent the truth about him being revealed to the public. Mr. Sutter LIED in order to get snapshots of himself pulled off several different web severs. Mr. Sutter is the subject of these snapshots not the copyright owner as he claims. My use those photos is legally protected because it falls within the "fair use" provision of the copyright regulations, as defined in 17 USC 107. Perhaps Mr. Sutter needs a refresher course in copyright laws.

Question: Can the subject of a photograph use the DMCA 512 takedown process?

Answer: Generally, no. Only the copyright owner or an authorized representative of the copyright owner can send a DMCA takedown notice. The copyright in a photograph belongs initially to the person who took the photo, not the person who is pictured. Unless the photo subject has gotten an assignment of copyright or permission to act on behalf of the photographer, it is improper for him or her to send a DMCA takedown notice.

Sutter's FOIA report

Update! I uploaded the letter from The National Personal Records Center!
Sutter spent his whole Navy "career" in Great Lakes, much of it with a nail on a stick on litter detail waiting to go home. I hope this makes him happy I posted the letter with letterhead. Lets see what fiction he can come up with now!

Sutter's Grand Navy Career... a Fizzle

This should come as no surprise but the information request on Sutter confirms what I had begun to suspect. Sutter couldn't even make it a full year in his Navy enlistment. His actual dates of service were from October 22, 1975 to June 8th 1976. As Sutter says on his fictional biography "do the math" That is just short of eight months. And it was during a time of peace after the Vietnam war.

In short Sutter *never* was a Lieutenant Commander he did *not* spend 26 years in USN counterterrorism he was never in Afghanistan fighting the Taliban he never went to Naval War College or trained with the IDF. He *never earned *any* medals. He is a impostor who is who fraudulently claiming to be decorated Naval Officer. He has never received The Navy Cross, Medal of Valor, A Presidential Unit Citation, the Bronze Star a Combat Medal and four Purple Hearts.

I wonder if Sutter has ever heard of the Stolen Valor Act of 2005. Then there is the small problem of Sutter impersonating an officer. Maybe Sutter should be watching more NCIS.

A conversation with 'Rev.' Sutter

The following is a conversation as it transpired via e-mail between myself and the 'Rev.' Jim Sutter. It all started out as a comment I tried to post on his blog, but he doesn't allow my comments through any longer. So much for open and honest debate of issues and what-not. Please note, that he seems to have no problems not allowing me to comment on his blog, but he cries and screams and throws a tantrum when other people try to keep his particular flavor of vitriol from their blogs.

First, I want to state that I tried to give the 'Rev.' Sutter an opportunity to keep our e-mail conversation just between us. I sent him the following e-mail on 26 July, 2007.
I would like to make our email exchange public. If you disagree with this, or do not want them them to be published. Please tell me you would not like that to transpire. If you do not explicitly tell me not to publish them, I will assume that you have no problems with them being published.

= Bigsibling

I'm thinking that nearly a month is plenty of time for him to let me know he didn't want the conversation published, so here it goes:
Bigsibling has left a new comment on your post " Hate Speech vs. Free Speech":

Since I am in America, and my server is in America, I'm pretty darned certain that American laws alone pertain to me. For instance, if I call Mohammed a child molester, the folks over in Saudi Arabia can't do squat (legally, I guess they could send someone over to blow up my house). My blog, BTW, is proudly banned in China!

He said:
Unfortunately for you, the American legal system holds a different opinion (see Yahoo case information) and your blog is banned or blocked in far more countries than China. The Saudis and being blocked in most foreign countries are the least of your problems, though, because the new EU laws and the growing awareness by American ISPs and web hosting services of the dangers of hate speech has started a very fast movement to shut sites such as your down. If you think Free Speech will protect your hate speech, think again. The US Supreme Court has ruled that ISPs and web hosting companies can shut down anyone who violates whatever rules the ISP or hosting company choose to set, and almost every one of them has rules against racism. We're now seeing this movement expand to firewalls, anti-viruses, Web filtering companies, gateways, router firewalls, servers (even your MS server). Most of the major ISPs and search engines in the US are moving to block such sites so that their users don't have to be subjected to racist material.
I see the ban has already had its effect on your site. Your traffic is down 28% in the last 3 months, and you're averaging 8.1 unique page views per day.

I said:
You are so full of caca man, it isn't even funny. One of the great things about being an American citizen is that I am subject to the laws of the United States of America, and not to the laws of the EU, or the UAE or Iraq, or Iran or China or anywhere else. If what you claim is true, then it would certainly cover anyone preaching the Gospel via blogs or other internet methods. Because in many countries, preaching the Gospel is punishable by death. In fact, just being the Reverend you purport to be is enough in some places to have you beheaded. So it seems you are saying that we are subjected to the laws and mores of other countries, when in fact we are not.

And I am my own hosting company, so I'm pretty sure I'm not going to shut myself down. I have never heard of an ISP closing an account for anything posted or said that was not illegal. I could be wrong,...but I'm not.

He said:
Wow, your ignorance is amazing. I presented the laws governing hate speech on the internet, I presented the primary court case showing that American courts recognize and honor the anti-hate speech laws of foreign countries, I presented the US Supreme Court case, you're well aware by now of the massive number of hate speech sites that have been shut down, blocked, banned or filtered in recent months, and yet you're still in denial. I'm sure you're also aware of the criminal convictions in the USA for crimes associated with hate speech (as I already listed, even providing the statute number.)
Try asking the CEO of Yahoo about how foreign laws cannot affect Americans. Yahoo has their own servers, too. Yahoo is much, much bigger, more powerful, more influential, and can afford much better lawyers than you, and they still lost, and had to pay the fine and take down the hate speech that was ruled illegal when viewed in France. You think you can do a better job than him? Ask the CEOs of AOL, MSN, Microsoft, Earthlink, Comcast, RoadRunner, Google, Bellsouth, and other American ISPs if the laws of Europe can affect their American users, and why they're in a huge rush to shut down or block hate sites. Ask the search engines, the anti-virus companies, the web filtering companies, and you'll get the same two answers from all of them: (1) They're tired of the idiots posting hatred, and (2) They want to remain in business in other countries. It's not just the EU that has anti-hate laws, it's almost every major country in the world.
Oh, and that server you're using? Wait till you get the software update in the near future. MS & Linux are both building blockers into their servers. You should be getting used to this, you're already blacklisted.
Carlos, it doesn't matter if you own your own hosting company, because gateways, firewalls, anti-virus, anti-spam and anti-malware programs are now blocking hate sites, internet filters are blocking hate sites, ISPs are blocking their readers from being able to access hate sites, the movement to end hate speech is progressing much faster than hate speech itself.
As to your "false dilemmas", the Bible and normal religious preaching is not hate speech, it does not meet the definition, which is very carefully laid out. It is only when a pattern of lies and deception is used to target a group of people for feminization, discrimination and incitement against them that it becomes hate speech.
You are showing the very typical denial of facts and reality that is also shown by neo-Nazis, anti-immigration extremists, Islamophobes and racists. Your time is limited, the world has awakened to the evil you represent, to the dangers of hate speech, and the world is finally taking action.

I said:
Dang Jimbo, I try to be cordial, but you just won't let me. You are showing your vast and enormous ignorance here. I work for ISPs and have worked for and with them for years. ISPs do not filter content. AT&T Yahoo, RoadRunner, Comcast, COX, and a myriad of dialups do not filter content period. Many have wanted to filter content, but by filter any content, they increase their liability. Here is how it works, if AT&T Yahoo decides they are going to filter...say...sites that espouse an argument that whites are better than blacks. But then one of those sites happens to get through their filters, then they are liable for that. They do, however, provide free of charge, third party software which filters websites and the like. That is the way they are protecting people.

Rev, you can stick your head in the sand all day long. But in the end, you are wrong, plain and simple. Speaking up against injustice, and crying foul when one group of people actively and openly promote the destruction of another group of people is not hate speech. Unpopular speech is not hate speech. Every time someone says something you find offensive, it is not hate speech. You use that label like some people use the racist label. If I say a black man robbed me, I am racist because I mentioned the guy that robbed me was black? If I point out that every single one of the people that perpetrated 9/11 was a Muslim, and continue on to show that there are more than a handful of Muslims that want to kill all non-Muslims (and especially Jews) that is hate speech? I don't get it.

I thank the good and everlasting God above that you and your kind were not around (or at least not listened too) when all that anti-British hate speech was being bantered around 230 years ago. If the anti-British hate speech mongers had been silenced back then, we'd all have the Queen on our monies, and be flying the Union Jack instead of Old Glory.

Oh, and just so you know, according to Google analytics, my blogs gets regular traffic from Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries. Oh, but that can't be, becauseI am banned all over the stinking place.

LOL you just have to keep on with the lies and the innuendos and letting people think that you can actually do things like write spiders that track people's posts and see their website stats when you don't have access.

There is word my kids use for people like you...POSER!

Bwahahahahaha

Later Sparky

He said:
You couldn't be more wrong. I don't know if you're just uneducated on the topic or if you're trying to convince yourself of something you know isn't true, or if you're trying to snow me. I know for a fact that ISPs filter content, block websites, shut down websites, close out user IDs, and it is all covered under their Terms of Service and Authorized Use Policy. The Hatewatch group to which I belong has been responsible for getting AOL, Earthlink and Yahoo to shut down close to 50 websites in the last year alone. The ISPs are working on their own to identify and shut down hate sites.
Since you "claim" to work for ISPs, you should be aware that they are protected under Section 230 of the CDA, but only if they make a reasonable effort to enforce their TOS/AUP. "Reasonable" means if one or two slip by them, they bear no responsibility.

AOL Blocks Links from LiveJournal

Posted by michael on Fri Aug 29, '03 06:45 PM
from the clue-not-found dept.
Evan Martin writes "LiveJournal.com is an open-source weblog site with over a million users, some of whom use AOL. Last week, AOL began blocking all HTTP requests with "www.livejournal.com" Referer headers. This is a common practice by image hosting sites to prevent off-site linking of their images and 'bandwidth theft'. However, in AOL's case, they're blocking everything, not just images, effectively breaking all links to any AOL member's site--but only from LiveJournal. To be clear: nobody on LiveJournal can even make a link to any AOL member site without getting a '404 Not Found' error. We've also heard reports of the same thing happening on AOL properties (Netscape, Compuserve). This concerns us because we have to deal with the support requests: it worked in the past for our users, and it continues to work for other sites, so our users think it's our fault."

And finally I said:
Your links are terribly misleading, and border on the absurd. Granted, I did not follow each and every one, but the ones I did follow talk about MSN, Yahoo and Google blocking sites with words like "democracy" and "human rights" in CHINA. Sorry Sparky, I don't live in China. And they block those because in order to do business there, they have to. That is the difference between a free society and an oppresive society. Your blog is blocked in China too.

One of them starts to talk about AOL blocking sites, but when one clicks the link to "read more" they are taken to a completely different site talking about Iran not wanting to give up uranium enrichment (the exact kind of thing you rail against - go figure).

One of them is almost two years old, and since the guy it talks about is still kicking, it seems that this consipracy theory nut had a problem with is host and no one could get to his sites. But he is back up and running now. So the article...posted on a nutcase conspriacy theory George Bush flew the planes into the towers before he blew them up with explosives website, and is not verifiable in ANY other source via a Google search.

And yet another one is about India blocking blogspot and geocities sites. Again, this affects your blog as well. This is not Google or Yahoo doing the blocking, but India, the soveriegn nation. And once again, I'll point out the difference between living in a free and open society, and one where someone can serve jail time for kissing on the television (Google "Richard Gere" and "India" for more details - I'm not doing your homework for you)

The one about Virginia ISPs was because they improperly applied spam mail filters, and ended up blocking tons of sites, not just a select few that produce what you claim to be hate speech. And again, the incident was in 2000 - SEVEN years ago. And AboveNet (from the article) went bankrupt in 2002. I think we can infer why that happened. The other one was a Canadian company, and now an Indian company, a mere shadow of its former self (again, I believe it is safe to infer what happened here).

And the one about ATT/AOL are there attempts at keeping their own customers from entering phishing sites. They simple re-directed known phishing addresses to a page with an explanation. Not blocking hate content as you want me to believe.

And the AOL censoring the WantToKnow.info site, wasn't blocking a site at all, but rather blocking email from that domain. This is common. A domain is listed on what is called a "Realtime Black List". The RBL contains a list of domains known to be used for spam, an ISP subscribes to that, and then every email from that domain is blocked. But there is no mention of the actual website being unavailable to AOL customers.

The AOL/Live Journal had nothing to do with content, but everything to do with bandwith theft.

And you might want to read section 230 of the CDA again. It provides immunity because the service provider is considered to not be a publisher, not only if they make reasonable effort.

I have to wonder, did you even read the articles you presented as evidence to your claims? Or did you just google something and post the hits verbatim, sans verification, in the hopes that the plethora of information might bamboozle me into thinking you were being honest?

You know, sometimes people will do their homework. And when you send out misleading and bogus links as evidence of your twisted view of reality, it only makes you seem desperate and perhaps a little kooky.

But from my gmail account, this would not go through the message I got from AOL said: (emphasis mine)

What a guy! So much for his open attitude, he has blocked my google mail address from sending him mail. No probs though, as I sent it to him with my hotmail account. Which actually got a response ( in two seperate messages) here is what he said:
And you might want to read section 230 of the CDA again. It provides immunity because the service provider is considered to not be a publisher, not only if they make reasonable effort.

Apparently you haven't followed the 9th Circuit's rulings on Section 230. But that's okay, live in denial. If you're relying on your hosting business to support your family, start reading the classifieds, as the world is done with racist nonsense.

How about a test? I'll send your racist mail to MSN, and when they yank your account you can try claiming that ISPs cannot penalize people for hate speech.

Sutter shoots himself in the foot

In a post decrying ad-hominem attacks on character, our dear friend and (not-so) Reverend Jim Sutter posts a message he received from Cristy Li (I don't know who she is) and comments about it as such:
On 8/9/07, Cristy Li wrote:
Dear Rev. Sutter:

As a courtesy and follow up to you, we have been making some inquiries and have likewise reviewed the information contained in Jihad Watch about you.

It has been brought to our attention this afternoon from persons that know you in Bluffton & Pandora, Ohio they have in-fact confirmed that you have been misrepresenting yourself .

As Jihad Watch has done today, we will be following up with additional information as to "Who is Rev. Jim Sutter?" (The title may change)

Res ipsa loquitur.

Very truly yours,

Cristy Li

Jimmy defines ad-hominem attacks as such in his post:
1. Person A makes claim X.
2. Person B makes an attack on person A.
3. Therefore A's claim is false.

Now, let us look at what Jimmy says about Ms. Li:
Ms. Li says she was "Born in Ohio and attended Ohio State University, former Law Clerk, I was married in 2002 to a native from China and have no children" (which is not quite true.)

This statement, in essence, calls Ms. Li a liar. He offers no explanation or even attempts to offer any type of proof for his attack on her character. By the definition of ad-hominem attacks he posts in this self-same post, his response to Ms. Li is, in fact, an ad-hominem attack.

This, from the guy who claims to be against all hate, and provide only verifiable facts, yet he constantly lashes out with these personal attacks at those who dare to challenge his status the the ultimate and final authority on what is and what isn't hate speech, and who have the gall to tell him he is wrong when he claims it is illegal for one person to say something that offends another.

The Pseudo Rev Who is a Fraud

Just who is this "Rev" James M. Sutter, exposer of hate on the web? He has made many claims about himself over the years, but the best place to start is with his own blogs, viz: "Just the Facts."
[Update 8/04/2007 Sutter has moved his "Just the facts blog to his AOL web page and did some editing. Second update 9/08/2008, Sutter has again reinvented himself and edited his "Just the fabrications" again however he left the date the same leaving the impression that this was the original posting. What Sutter doesn't realize is that AOL allows anyone to FTP to anyones web page; the evidence is there for all to see ftp://hometown.aol.com/revjimsutter! Sutter changed his "Just the Facts" Xmas eve 2007 but left the old date of Monday, April 23, 2007. It seems the "man of God" Lies again. ]
The first claim is that he enlisted in the Navy. Yet the photo he posts of himself "on leave"
is not a regular Navy uniform but in fact a Navy Jr ROTC uniform. This is not a picture of him home on leave, but a picture of him home after a day in high school. (Note 8/07: he has remove this picture and the one of the GI Joe from the new profile on AOL; I wonder why?) He also claims that in the Navy, he specialized in
SWEOD, Special Weapons Ordinance Disposal and Intelligence. At times, I was TAD’d to Special Ops units. For those who understand, my NOD and AQDs were: 1635, KG2, 3Q1, USNAVCENT/FIFTHFLT.” (note 8/07 he has added this disclaimer "This does not mean I was a SEAL. Please do not misunderstand, and do not believe the claims of those who say I was.")

With a picture of a GI Joe doll in combat gear (amusingly titled me+in+gear) to show what he used to wear. However, on a web page exposing military phonies Heroes or Villains?, Sutter has been exposed as a liar, and I quote: "there are NO men listed in the SEAL database with the last name SUTTER." (Note: this has been removed and Sutter has added a disclaimer, although this doesn't absolute him of giving the "impression" he was a Navy Seal). He was also exposed as a Navy Seal impostor at The Special Operations Bulletin Board. "...this man was publicly exposed as a SEAL impostor. In my opinion, the current display on the web page has all the earmarks of a pitiful and pathetic effort to hang onto those claims while leaving nothing for those who exposed him to use against him." More on his Navy career later.

The "Rev'" Jim Sutter claims to be an
independent Baptist Minister

"I received my “Calling” to ministry around 1985 or so, and since I was Catholic, I started off in my local church (St. Luke’s) as a Commentator and Lector, then received training and certification as a Eucharistic Minister. At that point I volunteered in various ministries, as a lay minister at the Aristocrat Nursing Home, Lakewood Hospital and an adult day-care program at Fairview Hospital. I knew that God wanted me to do more, so I applied for the Deaconate program (sort of a junior priest). Unfortunately, I found out that the Church (at least in the Cleveland diocese at that time) did not accept applicants who had physical disabilities. I was quite surprised, because the Church does great public work for people with disabilities. But, I had run into a brick wall at this point, with God telling me that He wanted me to do more.

I took about a year to pray over this and consider my options. Finally I enrolled in King’s Word Seminary, which at that time was in Strongsville (they have since relocated). (
Note: 8/2007 Sutter has added this disclaimer (ie: lie): "they have since relocated and downgraded to a biblical study school) I began there in early 1989 to receive my Masters in Theology, and spent a couple of extra years working on my Doctorate in Divinity, Doctorate in Biblical Studies and History, and a Ph.D. in Trauma Psychology. Later, I completed additional training at other facilities to receive CEs and certifications in Crisis Intervention, Domestic Violence, Suicide Prevention, Hostage Negotiation, and Prison Ministry.

During this same time period, I continued with volunteer work, volunteering for the Free Clinic on their Crisis Intervention Hotline and Counseling program (that worked out well for my practicum); I volunteered as a prison minister in all Ohio prisons, county jails and local lockups; I volunteered for the local Christian Service Center, and helped found another non-profit crisis intervention agency known as the Free Crisis Clinic (now defunct).

I finally finished with seminary in December 1993 and received my ordination, state license and my first assignment, to Doers of the Word Baptist Fellowship Church in Strongsville Ohio. After serving two years there as Associate Pastor, I moved on to Jesus the Way Christian Fellowship Church in Lorain, Ohio in 1995 as Pastor and then Senior Pastor. Jesus the Way is a nondenominational Christian church, with pastors who are Independent Baptist, Southern Baptist and Pentecostal, and is located at 1822 East 28th Street. My church’s ministry programs include prison ministry, nursing home and hospital ministry, street ministry, aftercare ministry and an anti-hate ministry. These are the only churches in which I have ever been a pastor and with which I have ever been associated. In 2005 I went on semi-retirement status at Jesus the Way due to my worsening health, and late in 2006 I became Pastor Emeritus (fancy word for retired.) I still maintain my license and can marry, bury, and baptize people, and the church has been kind enough to allow me to remain in charge of their Internet Ministry Program
.”

But this contradicts what he said about himself September 30, 1995 on a bit.listserv.ada-law newsgroup

Sutter has specifically claimed he was a *new* kind of ordained Catholic minister, "higher than a Deacon, but slightly lower than a priest." A position that has never existed in the Catholic Church.

I am a minister by a new program of the Catholic Church. The Jesuits are running a relatively new program out of Modesto, CA, where they are coordinating training of ministers who would otherwise not qualify for service to their church. I would not normally qualify for further service to the Catholic Church, as I had already been commissioned a Eucharistic Minister, and the next step up would normally be to the Deaconnate. BUT, the Catholic church will not accept anyone into the Deacconate program who is disabled. (I know, we need to work on them, too). So the long and the short of it is that applicants go through five years of lay ministry to learn tenants and connonical law and biblical studies in whatever Christian religion they profess as their faith. The program is currently graduating Catholic Ministers, and Protestant and Episcopalian and Baptist Ministers.

As a Catholic minister, after I completed my five years of study, done through a combination of correspondence, online and attendance at St. Borromeo Seminary (here in Cleveland), while during the same five years working as a lay minister for the Catholic Church. After all that, then I was ordained, in Decembber, 1994. As a Catholic Minister, through a special dispensation of the Pope, I can be married and have a family. I am in a position higher than a Deacon, but slightly lower than a priest. I perform baptisms, celebrate mass, preside at First Communions, hear confessions, absolve sinners, bring communion, compassion and a sympathetic ear to the sick (they can't tell me anything I don't personally know about), say funeral masses, marriages, etc.”

He also repeated that fabrication here

I was ordained December 11, 1994 by the Catholic Life Church program out of Modesto, California. My Ohio license is number 4849, granted December 30, 1994. My supervisory Bishop is Bishop Kirby Hensley. I hold a Doctor of Divinity degree and a Doctorate in Biblical Studies.”

And once again here

I began as a lay minister in the Roman Catholic Church in December 1988. I continued lay ministry as Lector, Commentator and Eucharistic Minister while I studied for a relatively new Jesuit program headquartered in CA. I attended classes at Borromeo Seminary here in Cleveland, but the bulk of my studies were done at home, with reports, tests and thesis sent and graded by mail to the HQ in CA. I was finally ordained in a recently created position of Catholic Minister in December, 1994.

Kirby J. Hensley was the president and founder of the Universal Life Church (ULC). Modesto, California is the headquarters of the ULC. There is no "Catholic Life Church." [Note the similarity in names between Universal Life Church and "Catholic Life Church"; this is a pattern with Mr. Sutter.]

Sutter also made the claim that he was a Catholic minister again here (this is an old prodigy.com web page saved by the Internet Archive).

Hi. My name is Rev. Jim Sutter. I am an ordained Catholic minister, serving as chaplain at a local hospital, also as chaplain to a terminal care support group and a national advocacy organization.”

Mr. Sutter is now saying that these Usenet posts made in 1995 were not made by him, but are forgeries. This claim fails because the headers on these posts match the AOL headers from all of the numerous posts he made at that time (all are saved on Google Groups), and the fact that his "ADA NEWS FROM OHIO" Prodigy page also made the same claim. It would seem that someone who was posting in 1995 pretending to be Rev. Jim Sutter would have generated some sort of protest from the *real* Rev. Jim Sutter at the time.

Mr. Sutter might be under the delusion that someone can "forge" a Usenet post in 2007 and insert said post into the 1995 feed. Although Usenet forgeries are very common, I don't think anyone has figured out a method to send a forged post back into the past.

Here is the *real* truth about Mr. Sutter’s ordination……it never happened. Not from the imaginary "Catholic Life Church" or from the equally invented "King’s Word Seminary." He bought his ordination from the Universal Life Church. See what Sutter wrote about his troubles with the Catholic Church as a result of his Universal Life Church ordination.
I am Roman Catholic, and had continued to attend mass after ULC ordination, but now the Cleveland RC Diocese has sent me a written warning that if I continue as a ULC minister I will be excommunicated!

Rev. James M. Sutter, D.D. D.B.
Universal Life Church

Mr. Sutter has never had a ordination by a recognized religious organization after a course of study (which is confirmed by the senior pastor at the Baptist church Sutter was once associated with). What he does have is a license to solemnize marriages from the State of Ohio which his do-it-yourself "ordination" from Universal Life Church helped him get. Which he admitted to in this post
"when I applied for my Ohio license, I had to present my ordination certificate and degree from ULC, and it is upon those documents that the State of Ohio, operating under Ohio Revised Code, granted me a minister's license."

Update 8/2007: Sutter is now trying to make the claim that King's word Bible school was once a Seminary and down graded to a Bible school. Unfortunately that is another lie, a pathetic attempt from the phony "Rev." to save face.
